Folio Art work

Hi, I'm Hillary today and I'm gonna talk about my folio. The theme is Love since I was watching some random romance manga and anime, it inspires me to do my artwork and illustrates. it's not only about romance it's also based on friendship and family.

about how my artwork going I finally finished it on time I was relieved when I finished my folio.

the left side of the folio is about how friendship and family bonding looks like and how it means to have them in our life. the right side of the folio is about having a relationship, actually, it's not only how the relationship looks like there's a story behind this illustration I made.
the upper 4 paintings, as you can see how sweet and loyal the couple is but it's not always about happiness.

the left and the right side of the 2nd folio is about the break up of the couple, as you can see the rips of the female and the male it shows that there falling apart and also about there separation. the middle of it is about how they get together and take things through, the last is painting is there happy ending between there relationship. the last really took me a while to paint because the paper is huge and I tried my best to do it well also spends the whole day of school just to finish the bits part. I used watercolour most of them, the huge one below I use acrylic paint actually I was about to use watercolour again and I was thinking to use another paint, it was a bit difficult using them because I don't use acrylic paint often. since there was no watercolour blue I decided to just use the acrylic paint well at least I tried.

Cosmic Girl (Eyes Open, Eyes Shut)

This image is of an innocent girl pictured twice with her eyes open on the left and her eyes shut on the right. We can tell she is innocent because of the childlike nature of the painting. When you look at this, you are drawn to the image of the girl with her eyes open. This is because the artist has used contrast to highlight them with the simple composition and the dark eyes standing out against the white face.

The title, 'Cosmic Girl' makes us think about the galaxy and a cosmic world. When her eyes are open she is present in reality but when her eyes are closed we tend to think she is somewhere in her mind or imagination like a cosmic place.

Yoshimoto Nara was influenced by Manga and Anime style, large-eyed figures. Nara also makes a reference to other sources of inspiration that bound renaissance painting, contemporary literature, illustration, ukiyo-e and graffiti. He uses soft-hued and pastel-colours with a bold line like an Anime/Manga character. His use of contrasting image, colours, and emotion which behind of this cosmic girl shows about her innocence which of the painting has a light it has a good texture on it I think the whole thing has no dark shades. The back of the painting is just plain white it's not messy but below of the painting has a bit of a dark/greyish. The artist is only focusing on the girl, and I think the girl represented how innocent she is. Nara's 1980s childhood are key influences on naras stylized, large-eyed figures.

The mid-tone highlight below of the character has shadow and above features draw anime cartoons, is given the name “Cosmic Girl”. Painted with simple bold lines, primary colours, and set against the empty background, these small children and animals often share the canvas, text, knives, cardboard boxes, among the recurring elements. 

Dry Media:

this is my 2nd artwork as you can see. my art teacher made me work on the sketching because I haven't done any dry media only wet media.
there's no meaning behind these drawings, just showing how I can do sketching which is easy for me because I'm used to it. the right side of the artwork is my original idea, I didnt copy any artwork from the internet because I'm not used to copying stuff except the left side of my artwork I tried my best to copy the vase and shapes from the internet well its nothing like it. making realistic sketch is a bit hard when you draw a whole person I usually just draw anime, I only know how to make real eye part I had fun making this stuff.

artwork (Term 3 week 5)

this what I've done so far over the past few weeks it took me 4 weeks to finish this artwork. it took time to finish this artwork cuz I was thinking about how I can connect my drawings with the colors and this came out to my mind. the next step is to make a comic which is like a story but it's pretty much short, and im also doing my family tree chart its the same as the tree that I made the last term this time im gonna write a chart that shows my family names and stuff, also finishing the friendship topic which I'm about to finish. today I'm trying to look for ideas in internet for my next step.

Presentation Reflection

my presentation was ok, it's about the farewell letter from my friends in the Philippines. when I presented it to my friend name van, she was the only audience I have cuz other my friends forgot to come. I wasn't scared or nervous cuz I'm comfortable presenting it to my friend, and it was easy cuz my friend was there I was comfortable presenting it to her.

Solo Performance Reflection - How Far ill go by Auli'i Cravalho

What are you enjoying about music so far?
- I enjoy singing and of course, I can't get rid of the nervousness.
What did you perform and why?
- I sing How far ill go, I have a voice lesson which is miss recommend me singing that song cuz it fits my voice perfectly, at first I was nervous about this song cuz I've never sung a Disney song and its kind of not my thing but its ok to me I'm fine with this song.
What did you find challenging?
- the challenging part is where you perform in front of the audience and you have to make emotions
to tell the story about this song, its hard to feel the song and do the emotion thing cuz I'm not comfortable performing in front of the audience but I tried my best to make it through which is fine.
the last bit of the song, which is my voice was getting lower I didn't use my diaphragm I was afraid to sing the last bridge of the song cuz I have this coughing/sneezing issue which is I was not well, I might crack my voice.
What did you enjoy the most practicing this song?
- first of all, don't get me wrong I love the song when I started to sing this song I enjoyed it practicing my spare time.
What was your grade? Were you happy with it?
- my grade was Merit with Low Excellence, yes I'm happy with the grade it tells me to improve more singing and self-confidence.

The other art that I made is undone but I do have few paintings that are done, this painting as you can see its finish and no its not supposed to be rainbow, the color represents their favorite color, I should've at least arrange the color code. the character represents one of my friends. 

the 2nd painting is my family as there anime version, they are my inspiration as you can read the word above them which it's not that clear sorry, it's the same as the friendship there background is their favorite color. I made this painting cuz I love my family obviously and the relate to my theme which is "love".

This painting is obviously about Relationship, this how the relationship looks like, we do know that we always have our individual inspirations like having a crush which it's normal.

of course, there's undone drawing, this sketch is about friendship I'm doing it with watercolour and put some different colour that can to Friendship :D

The Kea

We went to Willowbank Wildlife Reserve and have a research about "Kea" a large parrot to fill the information in our book.

We learned about how clever kea is and etc. The Kea has greenish feathers, blue wingtips, the base of the tail feature are reddish-orange which they use for communication, and female kea is a bit smaller than males and has a shorter beaks. Kea has 4 toes to grab some branches, They sometimes break any quirky surroundings to test everything that they find. They also break cars parts such as the side of the window (rubbers around the windows).
  
These birds are the only mountain parrots in the world. Kea is a large parrot that found in the forested and alpine regions of the south island of NZ, kea can solve a logical puzzle and can work together as a team. The kea diet consists different plants and insects, they are known to be omnivores. They are known to be opportunist/scavengers, they will eat any meat that they can find, if there's no food to be found they will attack the livestock and the sheep's, which is the main reason why the farmers shot down thousand of kea, in the late 1860's.

The breeding season starts in July and ends in January, kea can breed each year and are generally thought to mate for life. the female usually lay each single clutch of eggs per year of 2-5 eggs in a burrow deep in the ground a beech trees roots large rock outcrop. Male kea finds food for his family and the female will take care of her eggs till her eggs hutch.

This is what I've done so far over the past few weeks, the other sketches were undone and the other was in my folder/sketchbook there all undone. yet I finally have finished this first part and it shows my first best friend (I'd rather not mention her name) and the background represents how colorful our friendship is. I've used the Ink to my drawing and I tried to make it like the other manga cuz we love anime!

This drawing shows my parents family side/ my family tree, this tree was the first came to mind cuz I'm doing love theme which is the family topic included. It's hard to make it cuz its detailed it has heaps of leaves, but it's worth it. As you can see it's still undone I'll try to finish this as fast as I could.

This painting represents friendship, it's not yet finished as you can see I have to paint the skin the fist. The background shows the friendship which is yellow, I've searched it on the internet.

This sketch represents how depressing relationship is ^^, as you can see what I draw it's obviously a heartbroken girl. since I think having a relationship hurts it came to mind that I would draw a depressing person and not only depressing I'll try to paint/sketch a happy relationship♡

What are you finding challenging about this song?
- the song is new to me so it's challenging to memorize and sing it cuz this song is new to me, I don't really listen to new songs I only sing to old/classic songs.

Today I've read about 'Cheese in the trap' the author is 'Soonki' I've read it in online its in Webtoon. 

it's about the girl name Seol Hong shes a hard-working student, who has returned to college after a long break. Jung Yu is a senior at the college known Mr. Perfect. Seol feels like her life took a turn for the worse since she got involved with Jung. is Jung intentionally turning Seol's life? 

I haven't finished the story yet I'm like in episode 8, I only know half of it so I'll just finish it sooner. anyway its a romance and its fiction it's fun to read its also interesting.

- our song choice will be 'Lost in Japan' we chose it cuz it has piano, bass, also

it has catchy music and the lyrics we all agree.

- I'm working with Alyana shes playing drum or shell be singing with us and with Tina shes singing

with me, Braxton is playing bass and Cameron is playing the piano.

- lost in japan Shawn Mendes demonstrates his commitment to love by expressing his desire to visit them on the other side of the world. 

Shawn Mendes revealed in an interview with Billboard that he was listening to a lot of Justin Timberlake while creating "Lost in Japan." the song was also inspired by a dream:

"I had this dream that I was lost in this country and I woke up the next day and we had this cool piano part and the song was birthed."

today i read 'knifes edge' its all about adventure and searching for treasure its fun to read. theirs this 12 years old twins adventurers Cleopatra and Alexander Dodge are reunited with their father and realised that 2 family heirlooms reveal the location, the characteristic about Cleopatra she looks like a boy iv'e misunderstand her gender cuz she have short hair the 2 twins they are identical.

• Today I'm reading My Boyfriend is a Monster I date dead people. There's heaps of version/story about this book that I read, I read heaps of them this time I've read about ‘i date dead people’ it's about this girl Nora Reilly she moved into this hundred years old house with her family its a huge house and she met this Kind Spirit and they have this love interest feelings from each other. actually, she's not expecting that she would met a kind spirit in the house oldest occupant. tom is a sweet and a handsome boy who died over a hundred years ago. his soul is trapped in the house, and also his not alone there are this other mysterious tenant darker shadows lurking it's kinda mysterious and nameless.
